IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eugene
Roberts
September 9, 1951 – January 29, 2026
Eugene Roberts, later proudly known as Master Sergeant Eugene Roberts, was born on September 9, 1951, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Marion Roberts and Charlie Roberts.
Eugene was the youngest of nine children and deeply cherished his large family. At the age of seven, Eugene relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he would grow into the man so many came to admire and love. He was known as a cool, very likable man who always kept a smile on his face and remained unapologetically himself.
Eugene graduated from Robert A. Taft High School in 1969, where he distinguished himself as a standout athlete. A star basketball player, he was ranked No. 2 in the state: an achievement that reflected his discipline, competitiveness, and natural talent. Beyond the court, Eugene was also an exceptional pool player, famously known for being nearly unbeatable and for always enjoying the competitive spirit of the game.
In 1972, Eugene married his high school sweetheart Lizz. That same year, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, dedicating 20 years of honorable service to his country. His commitment, leadership, and excellence led him to earn the rank of Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force, Eugene continued his professional career at Barnes Aerospace, where he later retired as a Final Inspector, responsible for examining aircraft parts; work that demanded precision, integrity, and trust.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lizz Roberts; his son, Marcus Roberts; his grandchildren, Asiae Roberts and Unique Roberts; his great-grandchild, Giovanni Short; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Eugene is also survived by his siblings: Jimmy Roberts, Ammie Roberts, and Ethel Oneal (Gillie). He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Roberts and Charlie Roberts; his son, Keith Roberts; and his siblings Charlie Roberts Jr., Hansell Roberts, Freddie Roberts, Mattie Roberts, and Bessie Singleton.
Master Sergeant Eugene Roberts gained his wings on January 29, 2026. His legacy of service, strength, joy, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
