Obituary

Eugene Altonio Cooper November 24, 1983 - December 10, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the transition of Eugene Altonio Cooper, age 40, of Cincinnati, Ohio,  who entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 10, 2023, in Cincinnati,  Ohio.

Eugene Altonio Cooper was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on November 24, 1983, to Eugene A. Bryson, Jr. and Maureen Cooper. Eugene was also known as "Squirt", "Money G", "Scheme Gene", "King Handsome Cooper", and "Redd"; but most people called him "Gene". He left an impact on everyone he met.

Eugene considered himself a Master of everything and enjoyed making music, playing chess, and talking trash as he taught lessons playing various video games (Mr. 2K). He also mastered getting banned from Facebook. ;)

Eugene loved reading and could debate anyone on any topic for hours. He had a lot of potential and hoped to start his own clothing line. Having survived a brain aneurysm and several follow-up surgeries, Eugene lived his life to the fullest and earned himself the nickname "SUPERMAN". Eugene considered both Flint, Michigan, and Cincinnati his home and was last employed at WestRock in West Chester, Ohio.

Eugene spoke of having many children, but some remain unknown to his family. He was "THAT" Uncle to a host of nieces and nephews. If you were ever fed grass and leaves, know that you held a special place in his heart. Eugene was preceded in death by his grandparents: Eugene A. Bryson, Sr., Lewis and Norma Cooper; aunt DeeAndrea Kay Cooper; special cousins: Derrico Miller, Jabrell Baker, Bruce McGee, Jamel Sechrest, and Devonte Robinson. Eugene was survived by his parents: Eugene and Maureen Bryson; his first-born son, Damien Cooper; daughter, Isabella Hilliard; brothers; Anthony Cooper and Joseph Bryson; sister, Maria Cooper; grandmother, Barnledo Bryson; uncles: Reggie Bryson, Gerry (Jenny) Cooper, and Lewis Cooper; aunts: Lynn Robinson and Melita Cooper; special Uncle Milton Brown; Big/Little cousin Corey Baker; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including his Holbrook Ave family. Eugene had special life-long friends, Rhonisha Williams, Ron Williams, Aaron McClendon, Don Gordon, and Reggie Siler, to name a few.

A Memorial and repast will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 2 pm until 7 pm at the Walker Chapel and Event Center located at 3939 Reading Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45229 (corner of Reading and Paddock)

He will then travel back to Michigan in the care of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home for a Memorial and repast on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 2 pm until 5 pm at their Chapel located at 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., Flint, MI (48505).
