Obituary

Essie Mae (nee Kilgore) Stewart was born March 7, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church for nearly 50 years. She and her husband, Philip, had three children: Gail Gary, Trent, and Judy Givan. Essie graduated from Woodward High School in 1949. She particularly enjoyed the tap dancing class in school. She worked at the U. S. Postal Service and the Internal Revenue Service, retiring from the IRS in 1985. During retirement she joined fellow retirees for the Birthday Club, visiting a local restaurant once a month to celebrate the month's birthdays together. Essie joined her husband and their oldest daughter, Gail, in Heaven on June 5, 2013. Her remaining children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are grateful for the guidance she provided and the life of love she lived. Grandchildren: Barnard Gary II, Byron Gary, and Taylor Stewart. Great grandchildren: Bernard III, Caymar, Riley, and Londyn. Funeral Services 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 10 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 5935 Pandora Avenue, Plesant Ridge, Cincinnati, Ohio (45213) with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until hour of service.
