She was the youngest of five children. She was called home to our Heavenly Father on December 18, 2013. Ernestine graduated from Phlix High School. She worked at Frisch's for 10 years and Wendy's for 20 years. In her earlier years, she attended Prince of Peace. Ernestine loved getting her nails done and shopping, as well as traveling. She attended all family events and always participated in whatever she could. Ernestine is joined in eternal life by her mother, Effie Rogers; her father, Clarence Rogers; her loving husband of 30 years Richard Veney; her brothers, Walter Lawrence and Rufus Rogers. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Shonda Rogers; one brother, Larry (Doris) Rogers; three grandchildren, Shamiyah, Camron and Syasia; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mom, I want to thank you for bringing me into this world and loving me unconditionally. No matter whether I made a good or bad decision; you stuck by me without judgement. You taught me to speak up for myself and to be my own leader; to be independent and work hard for what I might want. There will not be a day or night that goes by that I will not think of you and that's a promise. I love you Mom...Shonda
