Emma Frances Dawson April 10, 1937 - May 24, 2024
Emma Frances Dawson was born on April 10, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Roscoe James and Emma Frances Dawson. She transitioned from her earthly home on May 24, 2024. Emma graduated from McCall School at the early age of 16 years old. Throughout her life, she was a professional tailor. She worked at the Men's Warehouse, the former Robert Hall Clothing Store and numerous other clothing outlets. She was very talented and made many of the outfits that she wore. She also sewed outfits for her family and friends throughout the years. Emma was a longtime member of Union Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Reverend Wilber Page. She was active in the Women's Missionary Society and enjoyed going on their church trips. She was also able to join a group of members that toured the Holy Land under the leadership of her pastor, Dr. Orlando B. Yates. Emma is preceded in death by her son, Darrell Dawson; seven sisters, Ella Easley, Mary Jones, Dorothy Ellis, Betty Taylor-Dukes, Frankie Dean, Bessie Norman and Owney Dawson; and six brothers, Ernest, Charles, Robert Earl, Joseph and Louis Dawson. Emma is survived by her grandson, Quentin Dawson (Kristal Renee); three great grandchildren, Aubrey, Khiron Lamar and Kylee Rose; her sister, Jackie Dawson; brother, Richard Dawson and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Graveside inurnment services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220 at 1:00 pm Graveside.
