Reflections of a Blessed Life Elsie Williams Elsie was born in Washington, Georgia to Henry Sr., and Decie (Williams) Turner. Elsie was the 4th of 15 children born to that union. She professed her faith in God at the age of 13 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Washington, Georgia. Elsie joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1946 under the late Rev. L. R. Mitchell – present Pastor Floyd Walker. Elsie married Roger Lockhart and three children were born under that union: Margaret, Gladys and Nellie. Elsie was a member of the Nurses Guild at Bethlehem Baptist Church and a member of the Cincinnati District Nurses. She was also Chairperson of the Mothers Board, and a volunteer of the Red cross for more than 20 years. She leaves to cherish her fond memories two daughters, Gladys Wallace of Washington, Georgia and Nellie L. Hope of Cincinnati, Ohio; one daughter, Margaret Williams preceded her in death. Elsie has ten living grandchildren and two preceded her in death. There is one sibling left out of the 15 Turner children, which is her sister, Sallie M. Simms of Washington, Georgia. Elsie has 11 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation is from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, on Friday, July 8, 2016, at the Greater Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, 7181 Reading Road (45237). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Landmark Memorial Gardens, 1600 Glendale Milford Road , Cincinnati, Ohio 45215.
