Eloise Garner Robinson, 99, of Champaign, formerly of Cincinnati, died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday (March 16, 2008) at The Carle Arbours, Savoy.

Homegoing services for Mrs. Robinson will be at noon Friday at Walker Funeral Home, 2625 Gilbert Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio. Visitation will be from 11 a.m to noon at the funeral home. Mrs. Robinson will be laid to rest at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine St., Cincinnati. Hambrick & Son Funeral Home, Champaign, was in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Robinson was born June 3, 1908, in Osaga, Miss., to the union of Louis Garner and Rebecca Davis Garner. She married the love of her life, Norwood Robinson, June 18, 1950, in Chicago. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by one sister, Macio King of Orange, Texas, and many nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her great-niece and nephew, Hazel and Robert Hambrick of Champaign.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Oscar Garner, Sr.; and four sisters, Myrtis Garner Reed, Viola Garner Stewart, Ida Garner Johnson and Mabel Garner Hackett.

Mrs. Robinson was a domestic worker for private residences. She was a passionate reader of the Bible and a devoted Christian. She may be gone from this life but will truly not be forgotten because her greatest joy in life was spreading her love, praying and caring for her family and friends. Her unselfish, giving and loving spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
