Obituary

Elnora Yvonne Lee, known as Vonnie by many, a practical but stubborn woman, whose infectious appetite for life touched the vast number of friends and family with whom she came in contact.

Vonnie was born October 28, 1956, to the late Truman Lee Sr. and Betty Jean Lee in Cincinnati, Ohio. Vonnie departed this life on Friday, December 12, 2025, where she is embraced by both her parents and younger brother, Truman Lee Jr. Vonnie was a proud graduate of Taft High School, Class of 1974. She went on to dedicate many years of service before retiring from the United States Post Office. In addition, she worked for the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority, where she attended trade school and earned her painter's certificate—another example of her determination and work ethic.

Vonnie is survived by her older sister, Leila Lee; two sons, Allen (Erica) and Danny;  her two brothers, Tracy and Twyman; nieces and nephew, Marva, Dwight and April; grandchildren, Patrice, Kenya, Amber, Nia, Malesha, Allen T., Ryan, Ashley and DJ; lots of great-grandchildren; great nieces and nephews and plenty of new and longtime friends that have all been accepted as family.

Vonnie found joy in life's simple pleasures and cherished spending time with those she loved. She enjoyed trips to the Cincinnati Zoo, the Ohio State Fair, and Disney on Ice, where she created a beloved family tradition by taking her family every year. A natural gift-giver, Vonnie delighted in shopping for family and friends, always searching for the perfect gift at the best deal. It was not uncommon for her to find a present in July and save it until Christmas, just waiting for the right moment to give.

Vonnie loved to shop, but not expensive stores. She loved the smaller value stores, like Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and Roses.  She recently became addicted to Home Shopping Networks. Even though she loved the cheap stores, she had no problem letting you know she had the money to shop in the expensive stores.  This was no problem, especially when it was something she really wanted for herself or something she saw and decided to gift to someone, just because. When she wasn't treating a loved one to a meal, Vonnie could often be found relaxing at home, surrounded by her beautiful crystals, sipping an ice-cold Pepsi while watching her favorite stories or shopping on the Shopping Network. No one ever left Vonnie's home empty-handed—she always had a gift, a snack, or extra household items ready to share.

As mentioned earlier Vonnie was stubborn, set in her ways and her way was always the right way, no matter how many facts shown to prove her wrong. She may agree with you and act like you're right, but deep down she knew she was right. Her outstanding trait is that she would go above and beyond to help someone in need. Partying and dancing were her favorite thing to do especially when she was the spotlight of the party.

Vonnie's love for music and dance will forever be remembered, as will her generous heart and vibrant spirit.  She will truly be missed and loved forever and never forgotten.
