Ellery Norvell Walker was born March 12,1958 in Cincinnati, OH. He departed this earth on August 2, 2017 in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sonya and Herbert Walker, as well as one brother, Keith Walker. Ellery was raised in the Lincoln Courts with his family and many friends. As he grew up he had two loves, dogs and cooking. He was known for bringing home any stray dog he found, and for his potato salad. He attended Taft High School and went into the United States Army where he was honorably discharged after four years of service. He earned his GED while in the Army. After leaving the Army, he worked for the City of Cincinnati Highway Maintenance Department and The Railroad before moving to Georgia. While in Georgia he received a Certificate in Culinary Arts from Helms College and started a business out of his home. Ellery leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Sondra Joi Turner of Cincinnati, OH, one son, Devin Walker of Macon, Georgia and grandson, Jackson Turner of Cincinnati. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, Gary Walker (Janet), Deanna Walker, Kevin Walker, Craig Walker, Christopher Walker, John Gilbert, Tinisha Gilbert and John Dooley. He leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends who truly loved him. Visitation is from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery.
