Elijah Victor Ramon Freeman AKA EJ, The King, Kingie Baby,  was born April 17, 1971, in Cincinnati, Ohio at General Hospital to Mosi Ali Diamond(Gregory Lewis) and Mattie Louise Freeman. Elijah was the oldest of his 4 siblings, and the oldest grandchild of the Lewis family.

From childhood Elijah was a natural athlete. He played AAU baseball, with his team going to the Little League World Series; he also enjoyed playing tennis and bowling. E.J. was a bowling enthusiast, participating in the Jeff Wyler/Pepsi BPA King of TV Bowling at the age of 22, while also bowling three to four nights a week. Elijah also coached both his wife and daughter on the lanes.

Elijah attended Howard and Xavier Universities, before meeting his wife Jinnerva and has been with her for the past 30 years. Together they have one beautiful daughter, Akesa.

Elijah transitioned unexpectedly April 11, 2020 in Cincinnati, Ohio at the age of 48. He is survived by Grandmother Eddie Mae Lewis, Grandfather Willie Oscar "Sonny" Lewis, his Mother Mattie Louise Freeman; wife Jinnerva Shelery; daughter Akesa Tchaas M-Ariba; brother Evan Twitty; and sisters Meagan Freeman, Felicia and Dalisha Diamond, Amber Twitty ; and a host of other relatives and Ronald Twitty. He is preceded in death by his father Mosi Ali Diamond.

Gathering is from 10:30 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at the Walker Funeral Home, 2625 Gilbert Ave., Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
