Obituary

Elaine Maria Witty 56 passed away peacefully at her home in Cincinnati, Ohio with her family by her side on September 20, 2018.

Elaine was born March 1, 1962 in Toledo, Ohio to Veronica Witty and Robert Austin. She graduated from Scott High School in 1980, moved to California, and attended college at Riverside City College where she received her associate degree for Licensed Practical Nursing. After graduation, Elaine worked at Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood, California.

Elaine had a deep rooted love for Christ, and was very passionate about ministry. She attended New Gethsemane C.O.G.I.C. in Pomona, California where she was overseer of the sign language ministry. Elaine resides in California for a number of years before returning to Toledo, Ohio.

Elaine definitely had a passion for life, and helping others; especially in times of need. She had a heart of gold, and always put others before herself. She was most definitely a joy to be around. Elaine didn't know a stranger. She loved everyone, and welcomed you with open arms. She loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends. Some might say she liked to go shopping as well. She loved her some Walmart! Some might say she was a talker, but she had no problem being a ear to listen. She would pray with you, cry with you, even stay on the phone until morning when the sun came up if you needed her to. Elaine was a warrior, fought a good fight, and will live in our hearts forever. She will be greatly missed by so many people. She was preceded in death by her mother Veronica E. Witty, grandmother Artelia Witty, and a host of Aunts and Uncles.

She will leave behind to cherish her memory a daughter, Shannel M. Wilson of Cincinnati; sons Devin A. Hughes of Cincinnati, and Dominick I. Hughes (Vanessa) of Toledo, Ohio; Kaileb I. Wright ( God son) brothers, Robert L. Witty (Rhonda) of Toledo, Ohio, and Eric Austin (Shaunna) of Chino Hills, California; sisters, Kimberly Austin of San Bernardino, California, and Corenella Austin of Minneapolis, Minnesota; along with a host of nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.
