Edward "Eddie" Huell Smith was born June 10, 1950, to the late Carl and Susan Smith in Cincinnati, Ohio. Three of Eddie's uncles carried the same name of Edward Huell Smith. Eddie was the third oldest out of the union between Carl and Susan Smith. Eddie grew up in the West End and used to hang out with his friends. At an early age, Eddie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. In his latter years, he re-dedicated his life to God. Eddie enjoyed weekend trips with his dad. When Eddie was 13 years old, his mother (Susan) was killed instantly from a car accident and that sent Eddie's life in a state of confusion. Eddie talked about his mother until his last days on earth. Eddie attended Woodward High School for a brief time. His father eventually took him to enlist in the army. Eddie served two years and received an honorable discharged. Eddie later received his GED at another location. Eddie was very funny! He would make these facial expressions or say something that would crack you up! Eddie loved to watch sports. His favorite teams were Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State. He enjoyed the news that his team, Ohio State won the Bowl Game (beat USC!) Also, Eddie enjoyed watching cowboy movies (dating back to Bonanza days!) He didn't care whether the cowboy movies were black or white or colored! Eddie enjoyed playing cards and winning! Eddie leaves to cherish his memories in our hearts; his siblings: Atha Thompson, Carl Smith and Tamica (Gerald) Smith, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and a few close friends. Eddie is predeceased by his brother: Joseph Earl "Sonny" Smith, his beloved sister: Debra "Debbie" Smith-Kelly.
