Edward J. Deal Jr. was the second eldest of seven children born on November 25, 1956, to Edward J. and the late Lauretha Deal. Edward graduated from Motley High School in Columbus, Mississippi, where soon after he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Once Edward came to Cincinnati, he met Stephanie Baggett and they became good friends throughout the years. Edward worked at the Cincinnati Mine Machinery, Butternut Bakery, and Hicon Construction throughout his life. Edward joined Morning Star Baptist Church in 2004 and attended under the leadership of Pastor Calvin A. Harper and Pastor Jerome Clay. Edward was a gifted man that was good with his hands; he could fix, repair, and build anything in a house. Edward also had his own lawn care service until his health began to fail him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lauretha Deal, two sisters, Debra Deal and Vera Bland, and nephews, Timothy Deal and Jeffrey Deal. Edward leaves to cherish in his loving memory: three sons, Edward Baggett, Dwayne Baggett, and Jermarlo Harris of Columbus, Michigan; friend, Stephanie Baggett; father, Edward J. Deal Sr (Cora) of Columbus, Mississippi; sister, Pearlie Deal (Michael); three brothers, Eddie Charles Deal of Nasville, Tennessee, Richarrd Deal of Nashville, Tennessee, Daniel (Mary) Deal of Savanna, Georgia; stepsiblings, Johnny (Gloria) Dixon, Irene Dancer, Eloise (Vivian) Dooley, all of Macon, Mississippi; Pamela, Angela, Latasha Coleman all of Columbus, Mississippi; Lakeeta Harris of Indianapolis, Indiana. Grandchildren, Trinity A. Thrasher, Tynair Chancy, Jayden Thrasher, and Nayaira L. Baggett; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral service 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16 at Morning Star Baptist Church, 772 Oak Street, Walnut Hills 45206. Visitation 9:00am until hour of service. Interment Vine Street Hill Cemetery.
