In Loving Memory Eddie Jetters was born on January 26, 1937 in Shorta, Alabama to the late Edgar Geter and Lottie Bascomb. Eddie's mother died during his childbirth and is the only child to this union. Eddie and his father moved to Cincinnati, Ohio when he was seven years old. Eddie grew up quick having to take care of himself while learning to survive the rough streets of his west end neighborhood. Transitioning into adulthood Eddie changed his southern name from Geter to Jetters as many of his relatives did as they journeyed to northern states. As a young man Eddie worked hard obtaining many different skills from carpentry, to electrical work as well as working on cars. Eddie was united in marriage to Christine Carter in 1959 and to this union four children were born, Vanessa Lee, Eric Lee, Annette and Jeanette Jetters. Eddie was added to the Lord's church in 1990 attending the Gray Road Church of Christ and remained a faithful member until his departure. Eddie was employed with General Motors and retired after twenty years of service as an assembler. Eddie's favorite hobby was riding motorcycles. He rode motorcycles for over thirty years. Some years ago he was president and treasurer of the Rolling Hawks Motorcycle Club here in Cincinnati. Eddie departed this life on Sunday, February 5th at age eighty. He was proceeded in death by his loving son Eric Lee Jetters in 2008. Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Christine Jetters; daughters, Vanessa Lee Jetters, Annette Love (Eddie), Jeanette Parham (Willie), two grandchildren David Lewis (Monet), Jared Lewis, as well as a host of relatives, friends and church family. He will be truly missed. Visitation is from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the Gray Road Church of Christ, 4826 Gray Road, Cincinnati (45232).
