Mr. Eddie Alfred Brooks died peacefully at his home on January 15, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio at the age of 69. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Brooks and Ruby Brooks of Cincinnati, Ohio and is survived by his siblings John Brooks Jr. (Avis Brooks) California, Reverend Charles Brooks Cincinnati, Samuel Brooks Cincinnati, Billay Brooks (Tricia Teague-Brooks) California and by many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, cousins and friends. Eddie was born on June, 4th, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Cambridge Technical Institute with a degree in Business Administration with President's Honor. He also earned a certification as a master painter from the Scarlet Oaks Institute. Throughout his working career he held positions in the fields of commercial painting, machinery, masonry, carpentry, porter, custodian technician and at one point becoming an entrepreneur as a store owner in the East End area of Cincinnati. He often received awards such as employee of month during his many years of service at, EDAK Technologies, Parkway Products, and his most recent employer Meggitt, from which he had retired. Eddie was an accomplished painter who was also gifted in baseball and basketball. He was an almost unbeatable ping pong player and an excellent high diver. His love for music was abundant, forming an A capella singing group that performed at venues throughout the city and also being a skilled DJ with his services often requested for weddings, parties and special occasions. He was a compassionate person who would try to cheer you up if he noticed that you were feeling down. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, January 26, 2018, at the Walker Funeral Chapel-Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
