IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dya Maleandri
Patton
December 5, 1969 – June 15, 2016
CELEBRATING & REFLECTING ON HER LIFE As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15 Dya Maleandri Patton was born December 5, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio and was united with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. She was born to the union of Esther Louise Patton and Charles Lee Patton. Her maternal grandmother is Mae N. Duncan. Her maternal grandfather, Jessie Murphy, and her paternal grandparents, Lela Mae Patton and Isaac Ewing, preceded her in death. Dya loved her only son, Daveed Louis Pleasant, deeply and unconditionally! He WAS her life! He made her happy and gave her so much joy. Dya lived every day to ensure that they could spend as much time together as possible. She was extremely proud of the man he has become. Dya accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend Nathaniel Reed, pastor of Second Trinity Baptist Church. Dya was a very bright child. She advanced from the second grade to the fourth at William Howard Taft Elementary School. She also attended St. Francis DeSales Catholic School, Walnut Hills High School and graduated from Woodward High School in 1987. Dya enlisted into the United States Navy August 20, 1990. She was stationed on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower 5th Star Aircraft Carrier during the Gulf War and other conflicts. She was honorably discharged December 20, 1996 with the rank E5 (Sargent). Dya received a Bronze Medal and numerous commendations during her service to our country. She created lifelong friendships among fellow service-men and -women that still hold true. Dya relished all time spent with her son, family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards of any kind but specifically loved Bid Whist. She was also an avid reader, a race car enthusiast and she enjoyed playing internet games with friends all over the country. Dya truly loved (her) dogs, one of the special bonds between her and her mother; they had a unique and devoted relationship. Dya loved all of her family and friends equally, but Isaac Patton held a special place in her heart. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her zest for life, as she was intelligent, funny, kind, thoughtful, and most importantly, courageous. Dya leaves behind a loving and devoted son, Daveed; a beloved and dedicated mother, Esther Louise Patton; a caring father, Charles Lee Patton; one remarkable sister, Shalela Thornton; a loving maternal grandmother, Mae N. Duncan; a supportive stepmother, Almondia Ingram-Cupp; a compassionate godmother, Mildred Williams-Moeller; and, numerous loving and adored aunts, uncles, cousins, and, a host of special relatives and friends. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Isaiah 40:31 Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond's gilt on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush. I am the swift uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there, I did not die. PALLBEARERS Isaac Patton Mack T.
