Doris Elizabeth Steele Taylor was the third of thirteen children born to Emanuel Steele (deceased) and Eula Mae Gamble Steele (deceased) in Cathrine, AIabama. The family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1958; where she received her education and was baptized at the First New Shiloh Baptist Church.

Doris was a very loving woman who loved family and friends very deeply. She loved to laugh. One of her favorite pastimes was to imitate commercials and movies. She loved to sing.  Some of her favorites were Billie Holiday's Best Hits.  She also liked to act; she even played in a few plays in her youth. She was a businesswoman by profession. Doris was a talker (smile) once she got started it was hard to get away. She was a giver. Doris would give the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it. She often gave gifts just because she loved you. Doris graduated college on the Dean's list, but never graduated high school.  She was a Phi Theta Kappa.  She was a very special woman.

She departed this life on June 13, 2019 at the Hospice of Southwest Ohio.

Doris had three sons Kevin Omar Palmer, Robert Eugene Taylor Jr. and Zachary Taylor (deceased). Seven siblings preceded her in death. She leaves four sisters and two brothers; Corine R. Wickersham, Eula Redd, Detra Steele, and Juanita Steele, Melvin Steele (Karen) and Terry Steele (Denise) Monika Steele; a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends; two nieces she was very fond of were Remy Stewart and Thai Ann Olgesby; and she had a  very special friendship with her cousin Robin Barnett and family.

Gathering of family and friends is from 2:00 pm until 2:30 pm, on Friday, June 21, 2019, at the Walker Life Celebration Center - McMILLAN STREET CHAPEL, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati  (45206).   The memorial service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 2:30 pm.
