Obituary

Donna Jean Burdine was born February 27, 1960, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was affectionately known as "Don Don" and number twelve of seventeen siblings. Donna was born to the union of her parents who preceded her to rest, the late Autrie, Sr. and Mattie Delores Burdine. Donna accepted Christ at an early age but later joined Greater Liberty Baptist Church in May, 2014 under the leadership of Pastor Herbert E. Mabry. In her time as a member at Greater Liberty, she was often asked about and many prayers were lifted on her behalf. Donna attended Cincinnati Public Schools where she participated in her passion, "sports." There she played both baseball and basketball and would have played football if it was an option and may have led the team. Later in her junior and senior year, Donna took part in the Dry Cleaning vocational work study program and graduated in 1979 at Aiken Senior High School. As time went on, Donna ventured into the medical field as a CNA and labored at both Dual Manor and Daly Park Nursing Home until she could no longer work. Everyone is known for something. Donna was known for her laughter and smile. If we could describe her in four words, we could say "she was the sweetest." She found joy in life no matter her circumstance. Donna loved her family and looked forward to the gatherings, especially the family barb-ques. If you needed to know anything about any sports, she could teach you. Donna taught many of her nieces and nephews how to ride a bike. She not only taught them how to ride the bike, but how to fix it and if necessary, make one. Donna was truly the sweetest tom boy. She traded her jeans for skirts and had two beautiful children, Torrance and Mattia Burdine. She loved her kids to no end and looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren. She often talked about Torrance and regarded Mattia as her best friend. On September 17, 2014, Donna changed her address from earth to glory. She leave for us to treasure her memories: her son Torrance (Amber) Burdine and daughter Mattia Burdine. Two grandchildren, Brooklyn and Torrance, Jr. Burdine, all of Cincinnati, OH; Seven sisters, Josephine Reynolds, Iva Deese, Mary Burdine, Lisa Burdine, Vanessa Burdine, Rita Murray, all of Cincinnati, OH and Peggy Burdine of Rochester, NY; A beloved sister-in-law, Diane Burdine; Nine brothers, Autrie Burdine, Jr., Charles (Bonita) Burdine, Cornell (Karen) Burdine, William Burdine, Otis (Sandy) Burdine , Jerome Burdine, Kevin Burdine, all of Cincinnati, OH, Carl (Sharon) Burdine of Columbus, OH and Leon Burdine of Mannheim, Germany; A dear friend, Jayne Phillips; and a host of nieces and nephews with many other relatives and friends.
