It is with profound sadness we announce the heavenly transition of Donicico "Donnie" Smith, age 68, of Cincinnati, Ohio,  who entered eternal rest on Monday, September 30, 2024, in Cincinnati,  Ohio.   He was born on Friday, March 23, 1956, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Viola M. Smith and Mansfield Smith.

Donny was baptized at an early age at Southern Baptist Church in Cincinnati.

Donnie was educated in the Cincinnati Public School System and graduated from Courter Technical High School and Hughes Adult Night School.

He worked at various jobs until he enlisted into the United State Marine Corps.  He worked at Monarch Construction Company for many hears.

Donnie loved his family more than anything, old and new friends meant the world to him.  He greeted everyone with a smile and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed.

He leaves to cherish his memory one brother James A. Smith; nephew Clarence Demetrius (Rochelle) Webb; brother-in-law Willie Woodson; God-daughter Tiffany Delanie; special cousins, Monyett Bennings and her sister Angela Harris; Essie Hilson, Kelly Brinson, Tommy Hilson Sr., Tommy Hilson Jr., Carolyn, Charlene, Chante Stone, Harold Jones Jr and family; Hilson family, Tina Stivender and family, Bunyan family; God Mother Sadie Deah; Leroy "Butch" Hospkins, Dexter McCray and family, the Flauk family, Rev. Illma JJ Johnson Jio Ducci and family, Delanie family, Dangerfield family, and D'Angelo Jackson family.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Rev. Damon Lynch, Jr., officiating.

Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m., at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428 with full military honors.

Pallbearers: James A. Smith, Clarence "Demetrius" Webb, Winfred Moton, Kenny Curtis, Dale Freeman, Dexter McCray, Kelly Brinson, and Tommy Hilson, Sr.

Honorary Pallbearers: John "Tuney" Russell, Steve Haynes, D'Angelo Jackson, Darin Sneed, Harold Jones Jr., Robert Ramsey, Leroy "Butch" Hospins, and Ta'Mon D. Stivender.
