Donald Lee Leach, age 69, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, in Fairfield, Ohio. He was born Saturday, July 8, 1944 in Elizabeth Town, North Carolina. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, March 24, 2014 at St. Mark AME Zion Church, 9208 Daly Road, Cincinnati (45231) with visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Share special messages with the Leach family at www.HerbWalker.com. Donald Leach was born July 8, 1944 in Elizabeth Town, North Carolina to Fred and Mattie Leach. He departed this life at Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 18, 2014 surrounded by his brother Mack, sister Lucy, nephew James, friend Dorothy and cousin Charles. Donald grew up in Elizabeth Town, North Carolina where he attended The Booker T. Washington High School. Shortly after high school in the mid 60's, Donald moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where he stayed for a long while with his brother James Leach (Jimmy). While in Cincinnati, he worked for the railroad and other jobs in construction with Best Improvement, Christopher Howes and Turner Construction. He loved doing side jobs working on cars and fixing up homes when he was needed. Donald attended Tabernacle Baptist Church as a young kid in Clarkton, North Carolina. He was a believer and his spirit was always positive. Donald confessed Christ as his personal savior while in the hospital. His parents preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory: his long time friend & companion, Dorothy Holland; his two children, Theresa Smith of North Carolina and Melinda Shealey; four grandchildren, Tammorah Smith, Torrer Newkirk, Taquay Newkirk and Jasmine Singh; two great-grandchildren, Kassidii Goodwin and Zyrhiarra Newkirk; his brothers and sister, Clyde Leach (Retha), Lucy Leach, Bobby Leach, Mack Leach (Terry), Bennett Leach and Bernard Leach; his cousin, Charles Leach; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
