Obituary

Donald Victor Clark was born on May 18, 1948 to Juanita Clark (Pickett) and Riley Clark in Cincinnati, Oh. Donald was the third child and eldest son of eight children. He attended Samuel Ach grade school and graduated from Withrow High School. Donald continued his studies at the University of Cincinnati where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Personnel Administration. He later obtained an MBA degree from the AT&T School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. Early in his career he was employed at the Cincinnati Health Department and the Citizens' Committee on Youth (CCY). He was the Director of Employment and Training at CCY where he was responsible for the training and management of a year round and summer programs for youth. Donald also worked at Avaya Communications/Lucent Technologies, Avon Products and Macy's Corporate Office. He enjoyed photography as a hobby and was an avid sports fan, his favorite, The University of Michigan (Go Blue) and the University of Cincinnati. Donald always had a passion for teaching others and he continued that passion in the Kingdom of God. He taught Sunday school classes and Adult bible study classes for many years. He had a unique way of bringing the scriptures to modern day when he taught and his desire was to see others live a successful Christian life. Donald was known by his family and friends as "D Clark". His mother always referred to him as "D". His New Life Temple family called him "The Don". All of these terms were used with much affection and love for him. He accepted the Lord into his life at an early age and attended Zion Baptist Church through his young adulthood years. As an adult he rededicated his life to the Lord and became of member of New Life Temple Church in 1985 where he was a faithful servant and Deacon of the Leadership team. Donald had an enduring love and compassion for his family. He was a devoted husband and friend, father, and grandfather who always gave his love and time to his family. He departed this life on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at Bethesda North Hospital and is now in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. Donald was preceded in death by his parents: Riley and Juanita Clark, his father in law: Marvin Bolden, and (2) sisters: Ossie Johnson and Maxine Clark. Donald will be lovingly remembered and cherished by his beloved wife and best friend of 34 years, Teresa Clark; his son Gary C. Clark; daughters, Kimya A. Clark Sims (Richard) and Chelsea B. Clark; mother-in-law Gertrude Bolden, sister-in-law Anita Bolden; sisters: Jeanette Stewart, Yvonne Manuel (James), Yvette Jones, Brenda Holliday and brother Anthony Clark Sr. (Alexis); granddaughters: Kaelyn Battle, Takyrah Lewis, Tonya Clark, Alana Sims, and grandson Richard Sims Jr. and a host of aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation is from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, on Friday, November 17, 2017, at the New Life Temple Church, 4836 Ward Street, Cincinnati (45227). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 7:00 pm. Interment will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3117 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
