Derwin Clifton was born on September 27, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of Clyde Cliton and Mary Frances Clifton.  He accepted Christ at an early age, as a member of First Liberty Baptist church.  As a teenage, he attended and graduated from Quarter Tech High School.  Derwin was the father of four children, Anthony, Derwin, Kourtney, and Franchae (stepdaughter).

We celebrate the life of Derwin, whose passion for music and the joy it brought to others unparalleled.  From an early age, Derwin was deeply immersed in music, finding happiness in DJing at birthday parties and weddings.  His vibrant energy and the tunes he  spun became the soundtrack to countless unforgettable celebrations.

A man of diverse interest, Derwin was also a movie bluff, particularly fond of cowboy films and karate flicks, each weekend a new adventure of the screen.  His culinary skills were impressive as his musical talent.  During his career as a chef in five-star dining restaurants, he was highly regarded and formed lifelong friendships with colleagues and patrons alike.

In his leisure, Derwin will be remembered for his generous spirit, his dedication to hsi craft, and the indelible mark he left everyone who had the privilege to know him.

Derwin was preceded in death by h is parents, Clyde and Mary Frances, and his brothers, Wilbert Clifton, Tyrone  Dumas, Timothy Clifton and sister Tonja Clifton.

Derwin leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Kourtney Wats, Franchae Walker stepdaughter (Herve' Grant), his sons, Anthony Clifton and Derwin Clifton Jr; sisters, Debra Clifton, Frances Clifton, Arean Doty, Rachelle Burgess (Noris), Helen McCopy (Andre), Minster Denise Morris, Twila Clifton, Melisa Clifton, Latisha Clifton; brothers, Charles Dumas, Alfonzo Dumas (Rhonda); uncle Robert Hills; seven granchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Abundant Life Apostolic Church, 9545 Winton Road, Cincinnati  (45231).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
