Derrick Jones was born on February 1, 1961, to the late Jack Steel and Rose Mary Jones. He passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, at the age of 64.

Derrick will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the impact he had on the lives of those who knew him. He carried himself with quiet determination and left lasting memories with family, friends, and all who crossed his path. His presence brought warmth, and his life reflected resilience, love, and purpose. He worked at LSI for many years, and he enjoyed fishing. He was a loving husband, father, and brother.

Derrick married Chinessa on August 14, 1993. They had been together for 32 years; there were no children in this marriage, but he had one daughter, Shayla.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Jack Steele and Rosa Mary Jones; Karen, Charles Albert, Joyce, Jackie, and Janniff.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Chinessa; daughter Shayla; brother Larry; sisters: Beverly Jones, Pamela Jones, Ruthie Lamb; step-children: Leonard Hinton, Tommy Jr., Kimberly, Chinessa N., Ricky, and other relatives and friends.

He was deeply valued and will be greatly missed by those who loved him. Derrick's legacy lives on through the memories shared, the lessons learned, and the love he gave so freely.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, on  Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the House of Hope, 930 Findlay Street, Cincinnati  (45214).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation,  beginning at 10:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

He will be laid to rest at Landmark Memorial Gardens, 1600 Glendale Milford Road , Cincinnati, Ohio 45215.
