IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deon
Blackman
October 6, 1972 – October 26, 2025
We're gathered here to celebrate the life of Deon Blackman, who was born on Friday, October 6, 1972, to Frizell Blackman in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Deon was raised by his mother, Frizell; her mother, Louise; and his aunt and uncle, Florence and Barry Coleman — all of whom have preceded him in death. Other loved ones who preceded him in death include his sister, Carolyn Denise Blackman; his aunt, Mary (Garney); his twin, Montez; and his deceased infant daughter, Alexis Marie.
Deon attended Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and, due to his love of driving, immediately began his career in transportation services. Deon was jokingly known as the "Human GPS" because he could give you directions to anywhere you wanted to go.
At the age of 17, Deon became a father to his oldest child, DeAndre. He was always a devoted father and grandfather to his three grandchildren: Ezra, Nova, and Luca.
In 1992, Deon met and ultimately married the love of his life, Larissa Brassell, and together they had three children: Briana, Bianca, and Devin. He was always a romantic and often wrote poetry to express his love for his beloved wife.
Deon was the life of the party and enjoyed being the mixologist who could create one-of-a-kind drinks to elevate any occasion. He had a love for cars, clothes, cooking, and fishing and was known as a true jokester with an infectious laugh that could make anyone smile.
Deon also dabbled in acting, having a featured role in the movie Boundaries. He loved traveling to Pensacola, Florida, and Gatlinburg, Tennessee, whenever he had the opportunity and enjoyed sharing stories from his trips with family and friends along the way.
His charisma and love for his family were reflected in his big personality and even bigger heart. Before his passing, Deon made the selfless decision to become an organ donor so that his legacy could live on.
Deon will be truly missed by Larissa and their three children — Briana, Bianca, and Devin — along with his oldest son, DeAndre, and his three grandchildren: Ezra, Nova, and Luca. He is also survived by his sisters, Nedra and Lashawna; his uncle Mickey (Aunt Dot); brother-in-law James; mother-in-law Jenise; nieces Amber (Charles), Unique, and Sasha; nephews Rico and Cody; great-nieces Enaiya, Euriah, Shiloh, and Toni; great-nephews Rico Jr., Edward Jr., and Braylen; and a host of other family and friends.
