IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis
Williams
October 16, 1955 – April 2, 2017
Dennis Williams, age 61, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 in , Dennis Williams, affectionately known as "Den-Den" was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 16, 1955 to Freddie Paul and Beatrice Williams. Dennis was born and raised in St. Jude/St. James Church under the Overseers Robert and Curtis McDaniel and then later Pastor Martha Williams. In 2003, Dennis was told by the Holy Spirit that he needed to make a statement of his faith in Jesus Christ – which he did. A graduate of Withrow High School in Hyde Park, he later served in the United States Army. Dennis played baseball as a child and had a serious baseball card collection. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan through the highs and lows – never missing a game on television or radio. The fourth child of seven, Dennis' parents, preceded him in death in April 2009. Dennis frequently watched The Word and TBN networks, especially enjoying sermons by Steven Furtick, Joel Osteen and T.D. Jakes. His closest companions were his parents; as a result, the effects of their passing weighed heavily upon Dennis. Favorite Memories As a child, one of the places he played at was Kings Records on Brewster Avenue where he once rode on James Brown's Corvette with his best friends. While growing up, he spent time with his cousins: Johnny, Milo and Timmy Perdue. His closest childhood friends were Robert Baber, the West Twins, Anthony Wilkins, Charles Warner, Drake Armstrong, and Freddie Thomas. The family statistician, Dennis could recite the E.R.A. and Won-Loss records of his favorite players and teams. And, he remembered all of his sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews birthdays. Dennis had a warm spirit and liked to have a good laugh. The Family Dennis leaves to cherish his memory two brothers, four sisters: Fred Williams Jr., Phillip Williams Sr., Barbara Williams, Pamela Bradshaw (David), Karen McMullen (Ronny) and Kimberly Atkins (Brian) – all of Cincinnati; several nieces and nephews including Phil, Oswanna, Rolanda (DeShon), Terria, J.R., Rachel (Kevin), Joy, Kristin (Tim), Kristina, Stephen, Jordan, Solomon, Gabriel, and Noa; a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and neighbors. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206).
