Obituary

Dena A. Green, 66, of Cincinnati, Ohio departed this earth to live forever with Jesus, February 15, 2014 from metastasized liver cancer. She was a lovely person born in Charlotte, North Carolina, September 26, 1947 to Robert and Sylvia Hannen. Dena was a Veteran of the United States Army with an Honorable Discharge. Dena was a wonderful wife, sister, friend, neighbor and volunteer, providing love, inspiration, guidance, joy and laughter to so many throughout her life. Dena volunteered with her husband at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash as a Friendly Visitor. She also volunteered at Oncology Hematology Care in Blue Ash assisting the nurses and serving the patients in the Treatment Center. She was greatly loved by the people that knew her. Her volunteering grew out of a desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus in loving others and caring for their needs. Dena is survived by her husband Larry Green of Cincinnati, OH; her mother Sylvia Hannen and her brother Robert Hannen both of Pittsburgh, PA; her sister Donna McCartney of Port Charlotte, FL and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Requests for memorial donations will be received by Hospice of Cincinnati. Donations can be made online. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A gathering of friends to celebrate Dena's precious life is being planned for the month of March. "Remembering Dena" will be celebrated at Hospice of Cincinnati, Blue Ash on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 4:30PM – 7:30PM: an after work, come-and-go Tea Party. The address is 4310 Cooper Road, Blue Ash, Ohio. Thank you to Dr. Rebecca Bechhold and staff at Oncology Hematology Care for providing excellent care and for the opportunity to be a blessing to other people. Thank you to JoAnn Ropp at Hospice of Cincinnati for inviting us to volunteer and to the devoted hospice support staff for providing the seamless transition into meaningful end-of-life comfort in at-home hospice. "I don't know about tomorrow. I just live from day to day. I don't borrow from the sunshine for the skies may turn to gray. I don't worry o'er the future, for I know what Jesus said. And today I walk beside Him because He knows what is ahead. Many things about tomorrow I don't seem to understand. But I know Who holds tomorrow and I know Who holds my hand."
