Ms. Delores Harper, age 71, entered eternal rest on August 7, 2013. Please share your condolences with the family at www.HerbWalker.com Delores, affectionately known as, 'Sissy' or 'Dee' was born on August 1, 1942 in Newton, Massachusetts to Marilena Jackson and Vernon Rollins. Sr. She was adopted by her Aunt Madonna and husband, Rev. Louis Ford, all deceased. After graduating from Newton High School, Delores attended and graduated from Chandler Secretary Business College. She married John Harris II and to this union John Harris III and Tracy Ann Harris was born. Their family relocated to Cincinnati in 1967 and when the marriage failed, she and her two children stated attending New Mission Missionary Baptist Church with her neighbor, Marie Durante (deceased) where she became a member under the late Pastor G. Q. Brown. She was introduced to John Harper, Jr. who she married and later divorced and to this union, Christopher Gene and Yolanda Marie Harper were born. During her membership here at N.M.M.B.C. she served for years as the Church's Clerk and Secretary, the Financial Committee, Usher Board, and was an original member of the first Pastor's Chorus and Bowling team. She leaves as her legacy and to hold on to, treasured memories of her life: her dearly loved children: John (LaCindy) Harris III, Tracy Ann Harris, Christopher Gene (Trinia) Harper and Yolanda Marie Harper-Stewart; her grandchildren: Marlon, Treasure, Talalia, Brandon, Desmond, Precious, Delyshia, Diamond, Mykeal, Destiny, Myreal, Christian; brother, Vernon Rollins; and a host of other cousins and friends.
