**Deitra McKenzie**, age 47, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026. She was born to the union of her parents, Darrell and Tanya McKenzie of Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 14, 1979, and was a lifelong member of the Cincinnati community.
Deitra was educated through Cincinnati Public Schools, where she built a foundation of knowledge and lasting friendships. She was baptized at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, where her faith and spiritual roots were nurtured and remained an important part of her life.
Above all else, Deitra was a devoted and loving mother. She is survived by her two children, her son Jayden Jones, age 16, and her daughter Paris McKenzie, age 15, who were the light and joy of her life. Deitra's love for her children was unwavering, and she took immense pride in watching them grow. Her greatest legacy lives on through them.
Deitra will be remembered for her kind heart, her dedication to her family, and the warmth she shared with those around her. Deitra touched the lives of many and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in passing by her grandfathers James Brown and Rozel McKenzie; her grandmothers Anna Parker McKenzie and Betty McKenzie; her aunt Karen Willis; and her cousin Kayla Willis.
Deitra leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children, son Jayden Jones and daughter Paris McKenzie; her mother, Tanya McKenzie; her father, Darrell McKenzie Sr.; one brother, Darrell (Allie) McKenzie Jr.; two sisters, Dawn (Shawn) McKenzie-Hunter and Ann Crockett; her grandmother Alberta Brown; her aunts, Andrea (Eva) Brown of Houston, Texas, Eloise Lewis, and Beverly Flowers; her uncles, Greg (Tip) McKenzie, Gary McKenzie, Dwaine Brown, Terrance Brown, James Tracy Brown, and Bill Flowers; her special cousin Shannon McKenzie; her special cousin Ashley Willis of Houston, Texas; and special people in her life, Mrs. Jennifer Wisdom and Mr. Reno Nelson; along with a host of other family members, friends, and loved ones.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 3:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
