Obituary

Deborah Dickey, age 70, passed away from a combination of a progressive dementia, Covid-19, and malnutrition on December 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love and family devotion. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 28, 1955, to Tommy and Mary, Deborah grew up with a kind heart and her infectious love and spirit remained her defining trait throughout her seventy years of life.

Deborah graduated from Robert A Taft High school and she attended Tried Stone Baptist Church for many years. Since 2002 she lived at 3708 Zinsle Ave where a lot of her family and friends laughed, loved, and rejoiced over the years. In her adult years, Deborah worked as a typist and a few other positions for the city of Cincinnati Police Department for 30 years and was retired by the age of 50.

Deborah was truly a blessing to all who knew her. She found her greatest joy in the simple, beautiful things: the harmony of her favorite songs and the company of her close friends and her large, bustling family. She was the steady hand and the warm heart that kept everyone connected, serving as a constant source of strength for her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, siblings, nieces, and nephews. She was and still is truly a major pillar of her family.

Deborah was married to Dwayne Dickey, Sr for many years before he proceeded her in his passing. Deborah created 3 beautiful children: Freddie Willis Sr, Dionne Nichole Dickey, and Amber Dickey. She is survived by her devoted son Freddie who carried forward her spirit. While Deborah faced profound heartbreak in her life, preceded in death by her beloved daughters, Amber and Nicole, she carried their memory with grace. Her resilience and capacity to keep loving was an inspiration to her family.

Her light and love lives on through her beloved close family and friends Gladys O'Neal, Lashonda Green Bradley, Rasheed Green, Demarco Freeman, Beverly Freeman, Jamale Freeman, Henrietta Dickey, Earl Dickey, Harold Evans, Linda, and Charles Bozeman.

Her legacy shines brightest through her grandchildren: Dwayne Jr, Freddie Jr, Lashonda, Dominique, Teshawn, Malcolm, Damazea, Deonte, Devonte, DeAmbria, Dearea, D'shaun, Keyshawn, Meechie, Earl jr, Dyamond, and Chasity. She was also the proud great-grandmother to a host of great-grandchildren: Teshawn jr, Amiri king, Damian, Melody, Meko and Mela Dickey, Nayomi Nyla and Niara Brown , Royce, Nevaeh Brooklyn, Kyrie, Quin, Lorie, Mia, Aaron Matchen Jr, LaRon Matchen & Na'Kiya Matchen and who will grow up hearing stories of her kindness, her strength, and her love.

Deborah was a mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, but above all, she was a friend to anyone in need. Although her melody may have ended, her song will play on in the hearts of those she loved forever.
