Obituary

Deacon William Hill passed at home on January 21, 2016. William was a loyal servant to the Lord, and spread joy to many. He is survived by his son, Christopher Klein, and remains in the hearts and minds of an abundance of friends and relatives. Please come celebrate his home-going ceremony on Thursday, January 28, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Walker Funeral Home, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati, OH 45206 OBITUARY Deacon William Henry Hill, affectionately known as "Billy," was born to Blanche Keith and Roosevelt Hill, July 22, 1950, in Erie, Pennsylvania. After a brief stay in Arkansas, he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with his father and stepmother Narcissus Burel. He was an avid pool player, an outstanding dancer, and a sharp shooter on the basketball court. William attended Taft High School, graduating in 1970. Shortly after graduation, he began working as a machinist/laborer for the Wm. Powell Company. William made his greatest impact while working for the Cincinnati Recreation Center, which allowed him to mentor and give back to the community. He worked there until retirement. William loved serving the Lord and was a pillar of strength and faith. He dedicated his time to spreading God's message so that all he came into contact with could develop a relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. William received the Holy Spirit and joined the City of God Ministries in June 2006 and was baptized a month later. In May 2013, he became Head Deacon. He was extremely active. Some of the ministries and committees he energized included: Give a Gift, the Thousand Man by Storm Team, the Prayer Warrior Team, and the clean-up committee. Spreading the Good News was his passion as he was the senior minister of the outreach team; and led Bible study not only in the church, but also in nursing homes and hospitals. Billy lives on in the hearts and memories of many: his son, Christopher Michael Klein; his sisters Geraldine Wellborn (Otis, Sr.), Effie Hill, and Jodi Cunningham; brothers Samuel (Melissa), and Leslie Hill, his City of God Ministries family, and an abundance of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and beloved friends. William was preceded in death by his son Martez, his mothers Blanche Keith and Narcissus Dowdell; and sisters, Diann Hill, and Beverly Pope (Raymond). Visitation is from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm, on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at the Walker- Walnut Hills Chapel, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206).
