David C. Tate Sr., age 73, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018.  Born December 15, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of the late Onree Tate and Ella Tate.

He went to Taft High School and later married Mary Tate on June 21, 1980.  He served in the U. S. Navy Reserve. He was with the City Recreation Department for many years.

He enjoyed listening to the oldies but goodies, fishing, and reading a good book.

David was preceded in death by his six brothers, Hosea Brown, Edward (Lois) Brown,  Alvin W. (Catherine) Tate,  Elbert B. (Sharon) Tate,  Leonard Tate, Alex Tate,  and Floella Tate Holliday.

David is survived by Mary Tate, David Tate, Ashley Tate, Kasey Lester, Glenda Miles, and sister Daisy Tate Carter. He leaves a host of grandkids and nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Friday, October 26, 2018, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati  (45229).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Rev. Chris Woodard from the River of Life Church will officiate.

Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, 45220.

David Tate Jr, Ronnie Black, Bryan Holliday, Jordan Carter, and Brandon Hoillday will serve as pallbearers.
