Obituary

David Christopher Griffin was an only child, born on August 11, 1975, to the late Herman Lewis Griffin and Marion "Gigi" Griffin, in Cincinnati, Ohio. David departed earth on October 15, 2020.

David attended the School of Creative & Performing Arts and graduated from Roger Bacon High School. He then went on to attend Full Sails University in Orlando, Florida. He studied music, sound, and production, along with many other arts. He has worked with many professional artists and has helped produce music for upcoming artists.

He has truly followed in his Mom and Dad's footsteps. His Mom started a 60's girl group while in high school, Gigi & the Charmaines. His Dad the Godfather of Motown was also a producer. David joined New Unity Baptist Church 15 years ago, under the leadership of his cousin, Reverend Mark A. Toney. They had a very close relationship. He loved playing for the church and he loved David's Angels (The Youth Choir) as well as the Mass Choir.

David loved being a dad to his son Christopher who he loved with all his heart, and also to Chris's sisters: Neveah and Kiera. He loved his Uncle Leroy Griffin, better known as "Uncle" Bob who he went to all the time, for everything. He also confided a lot in his cousin Anthony.

David was full of high energy and was always on the go. He loved performing with the Sly Band and going in and out of town meeting with people. That was one of his well-known sayings, "I was in a meeting when you called". He was always busy up until the time his heart failed him and he could do no more.

David leaves to mourn: his mother Marion Griffin; his son Christopher Griffin; his godson Dominique Sims; his Uncle Leroy Griffin; his aunts: Rosemary Toney (Thomas), Merel Jackson, Brenda (Geri) Stevenson, his cousin Jackson Davis; and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
