Daryl Edward Lee, 66, of Cincinnati, Ohio, departed this life and transitioned into eternal life on Friday, August 7, 2020 surrounded by love. He was born February 25,1954 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Min and Ann Lee.
Daryl was educated in the Cincinnati Public Schools system. He attended Columbian Elementary School, Samuel Ach Jr. High and graduated from Woodward High School in 1972. He later attended Rio Grande University.
In 1991 he was reacquainted with Lillian Black. They dated for five years and on August 16, 1996, they were married. They were married for 24 years. He gave his life to Christ and was baptized at an early age at New Prospect Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. T.L. Lane. He was re-baptized by Rev. Damon Lynch III, and remained an active member throughout his life. His humble service to the church included over 10 years as Chairman of the Trustee Board, many years as Maintenance Supervisor, Audio Engineer for over 30 years, and even assisted with setting up the Busken Bakery.
Daryl was better known to many as DJ Disco D. Lee. Daryl was a DJ for many years. His first job as a DJ was at WCIN Radio Station. He later moved to California for a short period. He later returned to Ohio to his love of DJ'ing at WDAO radio station. He enjoyed technology and held several positions throughout the years with Belcan, Proctor & Gamble, Shriver Security, and several other alarm agencies. In 1991, he started his own business, Pisces Security. Daryl installed alarms and did electrical work all over the Tri-Sate. He worked until his health started to decline.
Daryl loved to DJ for different organizations and working on anything electrical. He traded in his Disco D. Lee name to Papa Daryl. He was a free spirited kind of guy, who never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh. Daryl definitely would let you know exactly how he felt about whatever and whoever.
He leaves not to mourn his passing, but to cherish his memory his wife, Lillian; son, Vonnel Murphy; two step children, Denise Spalding and Rickey Staley; grandchildren, Stasia, Keyara, Kyndal, Tourey, Latrell and Rickey Jr; eight great grandchildren; siblings, Deborah Trimm, Danella Jamison, Douglas Lee(Patricia), and Dexter Lee, who proceeds him in death; in-laws, Linda Randall of California, Tony Edwards (Carolyn) Ricky Edwards, William Edwards, and Sandra Rogers; He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation is from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, on Friday, August 14, 2020, at the New Prospect Baptist Church, 1580 Summit Road, Cincinnati (45237). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 7:00 pm.
