IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Darryl E.
Rousseau
July 2, 1954 – November 8, 2013
Darryl E. Rousseau, age 59, passed away November 8, 2013. Darryl Emmanuel Rousseau was born with his twin sister, Deborah on July 2, 1954 to the union of Clemey Rousseau and Fannie (Hicks) Rousseau. In order to establish a Christian household, Fannie always ensured that the children received a parochial school education and attended church services regularly. During his early years, Darryl attended St. Pius School and Church. Later he attended Garfield Elementary School, Heinhold Jr. High, and Hughes High School. He also became a member of Hartwell Baptist Church. In 1974, Darryl was blessed with a loving daughter, Twanette Renee Wooten. Unfortunately, he didn't get to spend much time with her during her early years because he had enlisted in the United States Army. Darryl served his country in active duty status from 1974 to 1976. After returning home, he served eight more years in the Army Reserve. Capitalizing on skills he learned in the army, Darryl decided to work for Warner Enterprise as a truck driver. After a few years, he went on to work for Greyhound where he became a Customer Service Supervisor. Finally, Darryl worked for University Hospital where he made numerous friends. Darryl's biggest strength was his "people skills". He loved people and they loved him. He maintained friends from every neighborhood he ever lived in and every job he ever had. Darryl's favorite activities included gathering with his friends for an annual Father's Day Picnic, the Hughes High School Class Reunion, the annual Cumminsville Reunion, basketball pickup games, and hanging out with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Darryl had lots of visitors at the hospital during his last days. His loving daughter and son-in-law were constantly at his side taking care of him. Loyal friends were there too. But despite the constant vigil and prayer, the Lord saw fit to take Darryl on November 8, 2013. He leaves a daughter, Twanette McDowell ( Rodney McDowell, Sr.), three grandchildren: Diamond, Rodney, Jr., and Tyree, Four sisters: Barbara Rice, Betty Forney, Deborah Hines, and Denise Carpenter, nieces and nephews: Phyllis Forney, David Ruffin, Pamela Forney, Carlette Neal, Tia Rice, Ronnice Rousseau, Tiffany Hines, Jeff Carpenter, Ron Rousseau, Andrea Hines, and Jason Carpenter, as well as a multitude of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 15 at First Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights, 6201 Red Bank Road, Kennedy Heights, Ohio (45213) with visitation from 10:00 a.m until hour of service.
