Obituary

In loving memory of Rhonda Lucretia Love, born February 13, 1969, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and called home on August 9, 2025. The beloved daughter of William and Allie Tee Hambrick, Rhonda grew into the very essence of her name—LOVE—in action. She lived as a selfless, giving nurturer, a steadfast matriarch, and an anchor of quiet strength for her family and all who knew her.

From a young age, Rhonda's heart was set on caring for others. She answered that calling as a registered nurse for 33 years, tending to patients with skill, patience, and deep compassion. She earned her BSN from Indiana Wesleyan University, served as a board member of the Ohio Nurses Association, and was known across her profession as a teacher and mentor to younger nurses. Colleagues respected her wisdom and calm under pressure; families trusted her; and patients remembered her kindness. She received numerous accolades from patients and their families for the exceptional, dignified care she provided—quiet testaments to a life spent serving others.

She met her life's great love, Jeff Love, at the age of 17. Together they built a partnership rooted in loyalty and laughter, faith and friendship. Rhonda and Jeff were married on October 16, 1993, and for more than three decades, they created a home where love was the rule and everyone had a seat at the table. From the time she was young, Rhonda wanted most to be a wife and a mother, and she considered these her greatest accomplishments. She was profoundly proud to be Jeff's wife and the mother of two cherished daughters, Jasmine Love and Jada Love—Jasmine the firstborn and Jada, who is expecting twin girls this September. Rhonda was joyfully looking forward to becoming a "GiGi" (grandmother), and her family finds comfort in knowing her love is already wrapped around those little ones.

Rhonda's life was full and beautifully lived. She loved music—Prince most of all—and could turn an ordinary day into a celebration with a favorite song. She was a world traveler, an avid sports fan, and a reader who treasured the quiet company of a good book. Rooted in faith, Rhonda was a humble servant of God who led by example, extending grace, choosing kindness, and finding strength in prayer. She had a gift for steadiness, able to handle any situation with courage and clarity.

She never forgot a face and always remembered your birthday—one of the many ways she made people feel special. In big gestures and small details, Rhonda showed up. She was loyal to the core, honest, and generous with her time, her wisdom, and her love.

Rhonda is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff; her daughters, Jasmine and Jada; and her siblings, in order of birth: William Hambrick, Jr. (Eileen), Randall Hambrick, Renata Hambrick-Riley, LaRon Hambrick (Darenee), and LaRicco Hambrick. She is also loved and remembered by a wide circle of nieces and nephews, family, friends, colleagues, and the many lives she touched throughout her nursing career.

Rhonda's legacy is love that endures, faith that sustains, and strength that inspires. We will miss her every day and will honor her by living as she taught us—to show up for one another, to keep the faith, and to lead with a generous heart.
