Darrick Antuan Johnson January 3, 1968 - August 3, 2023

Darrick Antuan Johnson was born on January 3, 1968, in Cincinnati, Ohio and departed this life on August 3, 2023.  Darrick was a graduate of Roger Bacon High School.  He began his professional career as an orderly at Jewish Hospital in 1988 where he met and married the love of his life, Sherry.  To this union three children were born.  After six years at Jewish Hospital, in 1994, Derrick entered the Cincinnati Police Academy and served for 22 years, retiring in 2017.  Darrick was an avid jack of all trades from carpentry, mechanics to grill master.  He was a career jokester and would play the dozen with anyone that walked into the house.  Darrick is fondly remembered by his likeable personality and willingness to help any and everyone in need.

Darrick was preceded in death by his father, Daryl Philip Johnson.  Darrick leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Karima Thomas; his wife of 33 years, Sherry Johnson; his brother, Darren Johnson (Jamezetta); daughter, Darrika; sons, Shane and Devon; grandson, Terryn and his fur babies, Bagherra, Baloo and Mowgli.  Darrick also leaves to cherish his memory a multitude of in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on  Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm.
