Danny Cooley was born on March 6, 1957, in Laurel, Mississippi, but was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, from his early childhood to a young adult, with his mother, brothers, and sisters in Winton Terrace.

Danny graduated from Courter Technical High School in 1975. Also in 1975, he started a family that produced two children. In 1978, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he married and had six more children. He was a jack of all trades. As an Elder, his dedication to his church family was well-received. He was loved by most and would give his last if he had it.

Danny was a lover of R&B and gospel music. He enjoyed artists such as the Isley Brothers, L.T.D., The O'Jays, The Spiritual QC's, and The Mississippi Mass Choir. His love for music inspired him to learn to play the bass. Although he loved music, the man couldn't dance to save his life. If clapping your hands and patting your foot was a dance, he was a pro. When he was not playing his guitar, he also enjoyed long road trips and fishing. His longest trip was to Alaska. On August 5th, 2025, at the age of 68, he took his final trip, which he will enjoy for years to come.

He is survived by his children: LaTasha Campbell, Antwan Campbell, Robert Cooley, Charles Cooley, Renee Cooley, Nancy Cooley, and Carmen Cooley; grandchildren; his siblings; nieces and nephews;  and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by Michael Cooley. Ray Cooley, Jeffrey Cooley, Robert Cooley, Joey Cooley, and his mother, Minnie Cooley.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy  (45231).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy that is left behind.
