Obituary

Evangelist Danielle Jovetta Cheatham lovingly known by friends and family as "Dannie" was born April 8, 1971 in Cincinnati, Ohio under the union of Joseph and Diane Cheatham Jackson. She was called to be with the Lord April 21, 2020 peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones.

She accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age at Beams of Heaven Baptist Church under the Pastorship of Reverend Saul T. Jerdo. Danielle graduated from Woodward High School in 1989. Then afterwards, she attended nursing school and ministered in the healthcare industry where she took pride in serving and treating patients back to wellness.

Danielle had numerous God given gifts such as being an avid drummer, psalmist and choir director of both the youth and adult choirs. She served numerous years on the Jr. And Sr. Usher board. She sang with various groups around the city including New Era and Kim Walker/Barnes & the Vision Ministries. She took wings under Pastor Anthony Burse where she joined the staff as an Evangelist in 2016. Dannie continued to spread the good word through song and interpretation, despite failing health. She kept strong faith and praise on her lips in trying times, even until the last day! Dannie is proof that though we may walk through the valley of the shadow of death we shall fear no evil for thou art with us!

To know her was to love her- and LAUGH! Dannie often uplifted our spirits with her comical ingenious. If you were near her you were bound to be rolling over in laughter from her quick-witted jokes and her impersonations. She was a walking Brainiac with the memory of an elephant. No matter who she encountered she made a remarkable impression!

Danielle was preceded in death by her loving grandparents John and Dolores "LaLa" Leslie, Herbert Jackson Sr, Joseph and Jeanette Cheatham. She leaves to celebrate and cherish her life: her loving parents Joseph (Annette) Cheatham and Diane Jackson; companion Clarence "Pa" McElroy; three children, DeMika (Tish) Peek, Daijah Johnson and Derus Day; two step children, Carmena and Larus Day; seven sisters, Deanna Cheatham, Rayna Cheatham, Serenity Cheatham, Charlene Bailey, Yolanda Bailey, Brittany Hankerson and Denisha Porter; two god-sent sisters, Sharon Ward and Demetria (Ann) Lattimore-Byers; two brothers, Deron Cheatham and Joseph "Tank" Cheatham; her  grandchildren, Eli and Emmett Peek; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
