Damon "Butch"
Campbell
August 8, 1965 – April 1, 2026
Damon Campbell, affectionately known by friends and family as “Butch,” peacefully departed this earthly life on April 1, 2026, at the age of 60.
A lifelong resident of Cincinnati, Ohio, Damon was born on August 8, 1965, to the late Lynette Clark and James Lee Clark, Sr. He was educated through the Cincinnati Public School system and became a well-known Tire Tech in Cincinnati, respected for his skill and his dedication to his trade.
His Life and Passions
Damon was a man of immense strength and character. Above all else, he was a very hard-working man who took great pride in everything he touched. He was truly "on call" for his community; no matter the time of day, if someone called, Damon was ready to support them.
His persistence was unmatched—even on days when he didn't feel his best, Damon remained dedicated everyday to his Tire Tech job. Beyond his work, Damon had a deep love for music and entertainment. He was a well-known DJ at the Plantation Club, where he truly enjoyed being behind the decks and bringing the room to life.
When he finally took a moment for himself, he was happiest surrounded by family and friends. He was a formidable card player who loved the spirit of the game. Many of his favorite memories were made sitting around a table, sharing laughs, a deck of cards, and his signature drink—a cold Pepsi.
Damon's memory and legacy of hard work will be cherished by: devoted fiancé: LaTonya Butler; mother-in-law: Gloria; Aunt Jackie; children: Damon Jr., Jeanette, and Terria; stepson: Chalfonte (Tylea); sisters: Kim, Denise, Beverly, and Debra; sister and brother-in-law: Stephanie, Craig Peppers, Dwight Young, Steve Young, LaToya and Ronald Mitchell; grandchildren: Maurice, Taryn, Ta’lia, Jailah, and Le’Amor; nephews: Jaylen, Khalil, Nasir, Nilen, Keontae, Cameron, Caleb, Cordell, and Brandon; nieces: Nicole, Judy, Naiarie, Mecca, Asada, Kimberann Andrea, Ikeisha, Imeisha, and Ilisa and a host of family members, friends, and coworkers who will miss his presence dearly.
Damon was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Lynette and James L. Clark, Sr. He is now reunited in eternal rest with brother: Jimmy, and nephew: Montez.
