Obituary

Dale M. Shaheen was born May 19, 1925, in Buffalo Creek, Logan County, West Virginia, to the late John and Annie Shaheen. He entered eternal rest on March 3, 1996, from his home in West Williamson, Mingo County, West Virginia. During his school years he worked at his parents grocery store. He graduated from Logan High School, and enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1943 and on September 9, 1943 qualified for preactivation as a cadet in the Air Crew. He attended Flight School and became a pilot of a B-25 bomber. He was Honorably discharged in 1946. After returning to Logan following his discharge from service, he opened both a grocery store and a beer distributorship in Omar, West Virginia. He was a pilot for the Middle East Airlines for two years beginning in 1958. In 1960 he retired and moved to Williamson, West Virginia, where he successfully operated a Stewarts Root Beer drive-in and a Mary Carter Paint store. He later opened Sunset Market in West Williamson. He had a passion for flying his twin engine Beechcraft Baron airplane and giving his time and energy to the community. He leaves his sister Cosette Dickenson of Priestly Ridge, West Virginia; and his close friend, Hobert Adkins.

He was laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, West Virginia.
