Cremuel Theodore 'Judo' Harrell, age 80, passed away June 12, 2014. Born April 9, 1934 in Sparta, Georgia, he was the son of the late Eastman and Maudine Harrell. After moving to Cincinnati, Ohio, he joined the New Life Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and later taught Sunday School Classes. Known as Judo to many of his family and friends, he attended North College Hill High School. While in school he excelled in sports, and he received many awards in football and track. He was awarded a scholarship to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, for his outstanding athletic abilities. Judo was United in Holy Matrimony to Martha, and this union was blessed with two children, Deborah and Mark. He enjoyed sports. He was very active in his son's sports and held many leadership positions in various youth sports organizations. He was employed by General Electric, and he retired after thirty-nine years of service. After retirement, Judo continued his passion for youth sports, traveling the country to his grandsons sporting events. He also enjoyed attending church service and working outdoors in the lawn. He enjoyed participating in his stroke support meetings and Drake Center water therapy. Judo was preceded in death by his parents, Eastman and Maudine Harrell, and niece, Damita Morton. Judo leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Martha; daughter, Deborah Harrell; son, Mark Harrell and his wife, Susan; sister, Rebecca Ross; grandsons, Tyler and Alexander Harrell; nieces, Naekomi Collins and her husband, Albert; many loving relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 noon, Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at New Life Missionary Baptist Church, 6434 Simpson Avenue, North College Hill (45224).
