IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cordell Rousseau,
Sr.
October 31, 1942 – June 18, 2025
Cordell Rousseau Sr. was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Ben and Ruby (Holmes) Rousseau. He graduated from Withrow High School class of 1962. He enlisted in the Army 82nd airborne division, he was a sharp-shooter and parachuter from September 24th, 1962, thru September 23, 1965. He married Louretha Randolph that union came Cordell and Rachel. Cordell started working at Kelloggs (Keebler) he met a lot of friends and still kept in touch after he retired in 1995. Cordell Sr. loved to play music for the line dance classes and DJ some parties. He also enjoyed HSN, QVC, Thrift stores, clocks, speakers, and yard sales, most of all he loved all his Cadillac cars. Cordell Sr. was a member of Greater Liberty Baptist Church in Madisonville. He enjoyed visiting the Madisonville Recreation Center. Cordell Sr. also sang in a group called The Chandlers with Ruben, Gil, and Vernon.
Cordell Sr. always dressed and smelled good. He was a loving dad, uncle, brother, cousin, friend, and neighbor he loved all who loved him he will be truly missed.
Cordell Rousseau Sr. was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Ruby Rousseau, Betty Charles, Lillian (Mitzi), Bowman, Algie Rousseau, Inez Amanda Terrell, James Serles.
Cordell Sr. leaves to mourn his passing children: Cordell Jr., and Rachel, two grandsons: Durell and Donovan Shaw four great-grandchildren: Durell Jr., Diamond, Shyla, and Damien, Amanda Greene, Sylvia Gordon Rousseau; brother: Ronald Rosseau (Mable); 14 nephews, 10 nieces; Otta; (3 bonus daughters) Beverly Bomar, a host of cousins, friends, and extended family he loved you all.
Whatever you do please smile when our daddy's name is mentioned and always remember The Rou.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
Graveside Service at 9:00 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2025, at Dayton National Cemetery with Military Honors.
