Clifford 'Butch' McElroy Gayle was born on November 18, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Clifford and Mattie Bell Gayle. He was one of five children. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. After our daddy's time in the U. S. Marines, he was united in marriage to the late Jennifer L. Strong. To this union was born six children, four girls and two boys. Daddy enjoyed spending time playing chess, checkers, connect four, cards, and listing to music. He loved watching movies and spending time with the family and friends. He represented and installed stong unity in his family. Daddy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jennifer L. Gayle, one brother, Gregory W. Gayle and one son, Clifford Gayle. He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Wendy (Calvin) Morgan, Martha Gayle, Jennifer Ross, and Erika Gayle, his sons, Antwan (Melissa) Gayle and Jerome Ross, daughter, Lakeisha Gayle, honorary sons, Terrie P. Shearer SR. and Paul Latham, 12 grandchildren, Tonia, Dee Shanice, Tyesha, Shantrice, Donovan, and Erick, three great-grandchildren, Little Lenny, Tristian, and Evan, one sister, Joyce Muhammand, two brothers, Reginald (Myong Hwa) Gayle, Frank Sanders, a very special friend, Ms. Patricia Walker, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, family, and friends. Visitation is from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at the Walker - Mt. Healthy Chapel, 7272 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
