Clementine Charlotte (nee Green) Dowdell was born on October 2, 1928, in Jackson Mississippi. She was the only child of the late Laura Green. She was called home to the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. One of Clementine's greatest joys, at the age of six, was when she and her mother moved to Cincinnati. They settled in the West End on Oliver St. Later she attended the Old Woodward High School. In her early forties, she became an LPN. She started her career at Bethesda Hospital on Oak St and retired from Daniel Drake Hospital in 1991. She worked in the nursing field for many years. When the doctors went out of the room, she would lay hands on the patients and pray for them. Some of them were healed. She was an amazing spirit filled woman. Clementine was an avid nature lover and felt it was one of God's callings on her life. She especially loved feeding the birds and squirrels every day. She also loved gardening and planted a beautiful garden for many to see. What she enjoyed most is praising God her Savior, she loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was a born-again evangelist, and she wrote a book entitled Parables of Truth. Clementine was married to John D Brown in 1943 in which four children were born. She later married Roosevelt Dowdell. She will be greatly missed by many, and her loving memories will live on. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Dowdell. She leaves to cherishing and fond memories her four children John D Brown Jr., Laura Brown, Stephen F. Brown and Belinda Brown-Morgan; eleven grandchildren, and twenty-four great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 9:30 am until 10:30 am, on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Abundant Life Faith Fellowship - Hyannis Drive, 2740 Hyannis Drive, Cincinnati (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
