Obituary

Reverend Clarence L Smith born June 9, 1943 in Macon, Georgia son of  Mrs. Elizabeth Smith-Gibson and C Thomas.  He was relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio as a young child.  He was raised by his mom and step father Adrian W Gibson.

He is preceded in death by parents Elizabeth Smith-Gibson,  and C Thomas, and step father Adrian Walter Gibson, wife Eva Smith,  daughter Na Na,  sister Gloria Gray, brother in law Butch Stegall, brother in law Shedrick McConnell Sr.,and brother in law Willie Gray.

He is  survived by his sons Chucky, Timothy, and Chris, and step son Ricky,  grand children,  longtime companion and friend Norma Mabrey and children, they were  a second family. 9 remaining brothers and sisters Vatche (Herbert), Valla Jean, Velma (Sam), Verna, Richard (Adrian), Adrian, Mary Elizabeth, Melvin (Michelle), and  Calvin.  He also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and colleagues.

Clarence was the oldest of 11 children and knew early in life that he wanted to serve God, so he became an ordained minister. He has been an ordained minister for over 40 years.  He always shared the word of God with whomever he came in  contact with.  He was always so full of joy and you could be guaranteed by the end of your conversation that he was going to crack a joke or make you laugh in some way.   His laugh was infectious along with his smile.  If you were meeting him for the first time, he always made you feel welcomed, and a part of the family. His hugs were tight and loving.

He will be truly missed. Rest in peace son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, friend, and colleague.
