Clarence Herbert Reed was born to the late William and Helen Reed (Smith) on September 20, 1939 in Cincinnati, OH. He departed this life on Sunday, May 10, 2020.  He attended Douglass Elementary and Withrow High Schools.  After leaving high school, he joined the Army and served 20 years, retiring on December 1, 1979.  During his years of service, he earned numerous awards and served as an Operating Room and medical specialist for almost five years.  He was immensely proud of his military service and the opportunity to serve his country.

While serving in Germany, Clarence met the love of his life, Sieglinde Lowkis.  They were wed on April 15, 1965 and remained married until her passing on December 14, 1995.  To this union, they added a daughter, Rosellen Howard (Reed).  Later in life, they were blessed to be reunited with Sieglinde's daughter Sherry Jones (McMullin), who he looked at as his own.

Clarence was introduced to Christ at an early age through Bethel Baptist Church.  He was a family man who especially loved children.  He served as a drill sergeant for part of his time in the military, and he brought that discipline home after he retired.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sieglinde Reed; parents William and Helen Reed; sisters Mayetta and Velma Reed; brothers Charles, Alvin (Butch), and Michael Reed; and various nieces and nephews.

Clarence leaves to cherish his memory:  daughters, Rosellen (Rosie) Howard and Sherry (Grayland) Jones; godson, Cameron Johnson; sister, Luella Davis; grandchildren, Grayland II, D'Mon, and Kevin Jones, Brandon Ingram, and Kiara and Jemia Howard; great-grandchildren, Amani, Kamia, Delilah, Ariyah Jones, Arianna Ingram Gonzalez, and Naomi Miranda; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gathering is from 2:00 pm until 2:30 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the Walker Funeral Home, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206).   The memorial service will immediately follow the gathering beginning at 2:30 pm.
