Clara Mae (Buck) Bush was born on December 22, 1943 in Crenshaw, Mississippi to Butler and Jeannie Lee Buck.  Clara departed this life peacefully on January 27, 2021 in Columbus, OH.

Education….

In 1951 Clara moved to Newport, KY with her parents from Belen, Mississippi.   She attended school in Newport, KY until moving to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1960. Clara then attended Taft High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She graduated from Taft High School in 1962.  Clara was very active in school.  She participated in several clubs, organizations and even cheerleading.

Work Life….

Clara held many different positions while working during her lifetime. She worked several years for the Keebler Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was also a buyer at Pogue's Department Store. From there she would go on to work at Standard Publishing where she would retire in the early 80's.   After retirement, Clara found her true passion which was caring for others and became a CNA. Clara loved caring for the sick and elderly.  She took care of her parents before they departed from this earth.  Caring for others was something deeply rooted in Clara early on in life.

Family Life….

Clara came from a very large immediate and extended family. Clara was the eleventh of twelve children born to Butler and Jeannie Lee Buck. She absolutely loved her family.  Clara never missed a chance to fellowship with her family.  She coordinated and hosted family gatherings and reunions in order to keep the Buck bond strong.  Clara was affectionately known as Jimalynn or Aunt Jim to her family.

In 1960 Clara met Robert (Bobby) Bush Jr. at Taft High School.  They married in 1964 and were blessed with four children, Robyn, Ronald, Ronya (Dee-Dee) and Tiffany.  Clara was a great mom to her children.  She was strict and stern, but a loving and very involved parent.  She wanted nothing but the best for her kids.   Clara adored her grandchildren and was always there when they needed her.  In addition to her children and grandchildren Clara had Candy, her beloved dog who she cherished as well.

Social Life….

Clara was the life of the party!  One of her favorite phrases was "It's a party over here".  Clara loved to dance and boy could she dance.  She knew every line dance there was to know.  One of her favorite spots, before it closed, was Skippers Lounge.  You could say Clara was instrumental in putting Skippers Lounge on the Cincinnati social map.  Even though she did not drink or smoke, you could always find her there partying, socializing and having a good time.

Clara was known for her annual birthday parties.  This was a must every year during the Christmas season.  People would come from miles away to celebrate with her.  You were always guaranteed a great time and to leave with a full stomach.  Everyone loved Clara's famous potato salad.

Clara also loved to play bid whist, travel and bowl.  She was a founding member of the Queen City Whist Association (QCWA); President of the old Skippers Card Club; Treasurer, Event Coordinator, Secretary and President of the QCWA; Leader of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Inter-State Bowling and Bid Whist Traveling League; President and Secretary of the QCWA Bowling League.

Clara never met any strangers.  She loved people unconditionally.  Her home was always open and she would give you the shirt off of her back.  Those that knew Clara, knew she never bit her tongue.  She said what she said and she meant what she said.  But in the end you always knew she loved you and would do anything for you.

Cherishing those she left behind….

Clara leaves to cherish her memories, her children Ronya English (Al), Tiffany Bush, Robyn Scott (Steven), and Ronald Fordie; eight grandchildren, Brandy Moore, Brianna English, Ronika Kelley, Domonique Fordie, Deangelo Fordie, Ronnell Fordie, Rickia Boyd and Ricardo Cooper; fifteen great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; two godchildren, Kathy Saunders Blackwell and Sherry Saunders Daniels.  She also leaves to cherish her beloved faithful big sister, the matriarch of the family, Bessie Benson; one brother Eugene Buck; and a host of nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by nine siblings, one grandson (Melvin), her parents (Butler and Jeannie Lee) and her beloved dog, Candy.
