It is with deep sadness we announce the heavenly transition of Chrystal Andrea Steed, age 37, of Cincinnati, Ohio,  who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in Cincinnati, OH. She was born on Thursday, January 29, 1987, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Visitation is from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, on  Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the River Of Life Church, 2000 Central Parkway, Cincinnati  (45214).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.

Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery.

Chrystal was born in Des Moines, Iowa, Polk County, on Thursday, January 29th, as the first and only daughter to Curtis and Deborah Steed. At nine months old, Chrystal's parents, along with her brother Steven (4 years old), relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, in Hamilton County. On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, our dearest Chrystal Andrea Steed suddenly passed on to her heavenly home at the age of 37 years old in her Aspen Village apartment, where she had lived for 16 years.

We will always greatly miss our Chrystal. Loving thoughts of her reuniting with family members who passed before her bring us both joy and sorrow.

She was a 2005 graduate of Hughes Math & Science Program. She then attended the University of Cincinnati, where she obtained both a Bachelor's and Master's degree. Chrystal was a longtime employee of Cinfed Credit Union, a job she enjoyed until her untimely death.

Chrystal was compassionate, loved life, and was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it was bringing extra plates and cups, giving someone a ride, or simply saving a seat or two at an event. She had impeccable punctuality, always among the first, if not the very first guest to arrive. She might even beat you to your own function. With her camera in hand, she was the "Say Cheese" Queen. If you didn't feel like taking a photo, that didn't stop Chrystal. She was like a little sneaky photo ninja, covertly snapping no less than three flattering photos of you, then humbly giving you the printed photos just to show how good she was. She loved marking memories with photos. She wore punctuality and reliability like a badge of honor. She was also honest, outspoken, and witty. Sometimes she was quiet, and other times she'd fuss about things that weren't going according to plan. She might joke or fuss about current events, and the louder she got, the squeakier her voice would become—especially when she sang two of her favorite songs, "Last Friday Night" by Katy Perry and "Just Fine" by Mary J. Blige. She liked all sorts of music.

Chrystal traveled to many cities. As an adventurous "Foodie," she visited all sorts of restaurants, never hesitating to try the most unique items on the menu. From squid to alligator, she'd say, "I'll try it once." She enjoyed baking from time to time. She made an awesome chicken casserole—though she was too humble to brag about it, she was also too proud to share the recipe.

Chrystal leaves behind loving memories to be cherished by her parents, Curtis and Deborah Steed, whom she regularly looked in on, rain or shine; three brothers, Steven (Fyendi), Jesse (LaGena), and Donte (Ruthie); two nieces, Shantel and Layla; one nephew, Steven II Special aunts Theresa Killings, Rebecca Williams and Uncle Johnny Killngs; and an enormous host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Our Chrystal will remain in the hearts of her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her unforgettable spirit.
