Charmaine Polk was born on April 29, 1956 to Hardy Alonzo Polk (deceased) and Ida Lee Harvey-Polk in Cincinnati, Ohio. Charmaine was disabled at birth and remained in the loving care of her parents until she was seven years old. At that time it was determined that she needed around the clock care and she then resided at care facilities that addressed her specific needs. Charmaine looked forward to frequent visits from her family. She enjoyed music and sitting outside in her rocking chair. She loved hearing her name, and if no one called her she could be heard saying out loud "Charmaine Polk". When she saw her brother Marty coming she would yell out "Uh Oh" while smiling in excitement. Her mother had to be careful with where she placed deserts. Whenever a cake was baked, Charmaine could be found trying to get to the icing when no one was looking. Over the past several years Charmaine was plagued with various health issues. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her loving mother Ida Lee Polk. She was loved by her siblings-Marilyn Willis, Clarence "Brother" Harvey(deceased), Marty Polk (Marsha), and Panda Dumas. She was also cherished by Uncle James Harvey (deceased), Uncle Jack Harvey, deceased (Ethel), Aunt Mauline Grant (Theodore), Aunt Pauline Williams (John-deceased), and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. She will be greatly missed by her care providers Oni Parrish and Jacquie Harrison who shared a special bond with Charmaine.
