Charles Anthony Townsend, the son of the late Leroy and Shirley Ann Townsend was born the second oldest child on February 18,1960, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He departed this journey on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Charles leaves to cherish fond and loving memories his children Charles Brown (Renee), Delilah Brown (James) and Tanika Mathis, Tena Anderson, siblings Jack Townsend (Tracy), Teresa Townsend (Phil), Allene Wilson (Kenny), Roy Townsend (Zena), Sheila Townsend, 17 grandchildren 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and two children Turrell Mathis and Kwona Brown-Best.

Charles attended Taft High School until he later joined the Navy in 1977. After his time serving his country, he worked as a maintenance worker for Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority until his retirement. He later moved from Cincinnati to Bismarck, North Dakota where he continued working as a direct support professional at KAYD Home Care until his sunset.

Charles lived his dash to the fullest. He was a devoted family man. He loved helping whenever he was needed. He loved to travel, fish, dance, cookout and spend time with his family. To know him was to love him. During his time here he wore many hats. Some of those included cook, lifeguard, seaman, historian, but those that touched the most hearts were son, brother, daddee, husband, big unc, UC, paw paw and G2. Nevertheless, whatever name you knew him by, you knew he was the life of the party, a wealth of knowledge, a warm heart and his boisterous laugh that was so infectious you couldn't help but to laugh yourself. In his loving memory let's keep the party going!

Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on  Monday, September 20, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy, 7272 Hamilton Avenue , Mt. Healthy  (45231).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm.

In keeping with CDC Covid19 Guidelines, we encourage those who are not fully vaccinated to wear a mask.
